If you are engaged in the manufacture of original dolls from a variety of materials, then you probably faced a similar problem: you need doll eyes, which are quite difficult to buy, since you always need a certain color and size specifically for your doll. There is one fairly simple method that allows you to create very realistic glass eyes for your dolls.

Instructions

Step 1

First, determine the scale that you will use in your work. The human eye is on average 24 mm in diameter. If your doll needs eyes with a diameter of, for example, 6 mm - this is ¼ of the real size. The diameter of the iris is almost half the total diameter of the eye.

Step 2

Next, make the iris. To do this, mix the color you want with some plastic. Use thick acrylic paint for color. Roll a "sausage" of the required diameter from the resulting mixture. Bake it in the oven, but set the temperature slightly lower than indicated in the instructions, since the plastic is very thin and can burn out quite quickly.

Step 3

Paint the cooled plastic on top with acrylic paint, using a darker shade than the “sausage” color. This will create a ring around the iris. Take white plastic and roll it into balls of the same diameter as your doll's eyes.

Step 4

Cut the previously obtained blank for the iris with a very sharp knife into small pieces. Take one piece and stick it in the center of the white ball so that it practically goes through it. Bake everything in the oven again. After the balls have cooled, use a sharp blade or knife to cut off the excess protein so that the iris appears on the surface. With a fine sandpaper, smooth out any irregularities so that the cut remains flat.

Step 5

Roll out ordinary plasticine on the table and stick almost finished doll eyes into it so that they are well fixed for subsequent work. Take a thin brush, dip it in black paint and place a drop in the center of each iris. These will be the pupils. Their diameter should not exceed half the diameter of the shell.

Step 6

The last stage is varnishing. Place a drop of clear polish in the center of the iris. Let the varnish dry and repeat the procedure several times to form a small mound. Finally, cover the entire eye with a layer of clear varnish. Attach the finished eyes to the doll and your product is ready!
