Step 1
First of all, try not to let the chase start. Approach enemy heroes no closer than a day and a half march distance. To avoid mistakes when assessing the opponent's move, watch his movements at a considerable distance from your hero.

Often the chase starts suddenly when an enemy hero jumps out of a dark part of the map and you don't know his maximum move. In this case, try to find secluded sanctuaries near your location on the map. Stand in this shrine and wait as long as necessary until the enemy is within a distance that allows you to escape from him in one day's march.
Step 3
The best way to escape from the pursuer from any situation is teleportation or flight of the hero. There are two types of teleportation - these are the "Dimension Door" and "City Portal" spells. Possession of each of them gives incomparable advantages in the game to the hero.
Step 4
Using the measurement door, you can instantly move to any accessible point on the map. Even in its darkened area! The spell of calling a city portal will also allow you from anywhere on the map, except for a sea boat, to be in the nearest friendly city. Using "Flight", the hero gets the opportunity to fly around the map without avoiding obstacles.
Step 5
To receive these spells, the hero must have the expert level of the "Wisdom" skill. "Dimension Door" and "Flight" are studied in the Mages Guild of the fifth level, "City Portal" - at the fourth level. Build a guild of magicians in each of your cities.
Step 6
When developing a hero, ask him certain magic skills. Thus, learning the skill "Air Magic" will allow you to more successfully use the spells "Dimension Door" and "Flight". And calling the "City Portal" with the learned skill "Earth Magic" will move the hero no longer to the nearest friendly city, but to any one of his choice.

If the hero already possesses this arsenal of spells, at any hint of approach and pursuit from the enemy, open the hero's spellbook.
