Iron ore is one of the most common in Minecraft. Iron can be obtained from it by melting, which is very important for the rapid development of a character in the game.
Where to get iron in Minecraft?
Iron ore is mostly found underground, i.e. below 64 blocks. You can get it with any pickaxe, except for a wooden one.
The easiest way to find iron ore veins is in large caves. One vein can contain from four to ten blocks. Twin cores can sometimes be found. Iron ore is often generated near coal, so after digging up one layer, look for another nearby. Exploring caves is a rather dangerous process. In order to return to your home with a guarantee, you need to prepare well.
Try not to go far from home while exploring the cave.
What do you need for a safe expedition?
First, you need to take several pickaxes with you. Especially if you don't have iron at your disposal. Stone picks wear out quickly. But it is better to take a workbench and sticks with you, you can make as many picks as you want from them, since there is plenty of cobblestone (the second component for creating stone tools) in the caves.
Secondly, you need to take torches with you. If you are just starting out, make at least thirty to forty torches. It is very easy to find coal in caves, so you will not have a shortage of lighting after the first vein found. The main thing is to take more sticks with you, they will come in handy for creating new torches.
Third, take care of the weapon. Dark caves are home to zombies, creepers, spiders and skeletons. All of them are quite dangerous, but the least pleasant are the creepers, which can sneak up and explode almost silently. Listen to your surroundings, if you hear a soft hiss, run in the opposite direction. A player without armor can be killed by a creeper.
Fourth, bring enough food with you. Hunger can kill you over time. Fried meat or bread should be in your inventory in sufficient quantities.
Fifth, moving around the cave, make marks on the walls using torches or blocks other than stone. This will help you get back home after you've got enough iron.
Sixth, when extracting any resources, do not dig the block you are standing on. There may be lava under it, then you and all the treasures found will most likely be burned. In this case, you will have to start from the very beginning.
Once you've accumulated enough resources, return home. Craft a stove (place eight cobblestone blocks in a ring on the workbench), load the top slot with iron ore and the bottom slot with coal.
To speed up the smelting process, make some stoves.
Wait for the ore to melt into iron ingots.
