Iron ore in Minecraft is a source of iron. This material is used to create reliable and durable tools, weapons, and other useful items. Getting enough iron ore is pretty straightforward.

Step 1
It should be borne in mind that iron ore cannot be mined with a wooden pickaxe. Therefore, going in search of her, make yourself some picks from the cobblestone. They break down rather quickly, so you need to advance to explore the caves, having at least three or four pickaxes in reserve.
Step 2
Iron ore is mostly concentrated below level 64, so it is best to look for it in the nearest cave. When generating a world, ore is created by veins of several blocks. Very often, the outcrops of iron veins can be found directly in the walls of the caves. If you don't want to dig in, just light the walls of the nearest cave well. To do this, it is best to have at least a stack (64 pieces) of torches with you, and preferably two. If you see one or two blocks of iron ore in the wall, remove the surrounding blocks of stone, perhaps the rest of the iron vein is hidden behind them.
Step 3
Iron ore can often be found next to coal. If you see a large accumulation of coal blocks, clear the area around it. It is quite possible that iron ore is located somewhere nearby.
Step 4
When mining iron ore, try not to break the blocks you are standing on. Quite often, you can find lava, water or, perhaps even more fatal, another cave under your feet, the ceiling of which you inadvertently cut through. Falling from a great height in most cases is fatal, and if you do survive, it can be quite difficult to climb up without losing your orientation.
Step 5
Do not break blocks and just above your head, at sea level (64 blocks), there may be a source of water or bulk material (gravel or sand) above you, at great depths, instead of them, lava may appear above your head.
Step 6
As you explore caves looking for iron ore, leave markers so you know where you came from. If you play the single player version of the game without a minimap and built-in compass, you can easily get lost and simply not find your home. Labels are best done with some kind of contrasting light blocks - white wool or sand are ideal for this. Red dust can also be used in this capacity, but it is difficult to see it from afar.
