Fantasy is a fairly common and fascinating genre. Its romantic features and mystical component make the reader plunge into the magical world. This genre provides freedom of imagination and is not enslaved by some frameworks of other genres. If you have a good imagination and want to put it on paper, then the fantasy genre is perfect for you.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you should pay attention to the world that will surround the characters and events throughout the story. Usually this is a magical and fabulous world with its own laws and characteristics. The classics of the genre are the Middle Ages. But you can choose any time. Think over the basic laws of this world, for example, the possibility of using magic or interplanetary travel at great speed.
Step 2
After that, start a little history of this world. You can think over in advance, and separately write its full history, and in the book you can state only what the reader should know at the moment. As the story unfolds, you will uncover more and more of the story. It is advisable to come up with some grandiose event that influenced the further development of your world. For example, it can be a war, or a new invention, the destruction of the planet.
Step 3
Moving on to the heroes and the plot. It is advisable to come up with heroes and immediately think over their plot role. Of course, you can add new characters as the story progresses. The main characters must have their own story, often with a tragic or heroic tinge. For example, the great warrior who saved the kingdom. Consider everyone's abilities, character and loyalty to other characters, especially to the main character. It is worth paying attention to the romantic plot, which usually runs parallel to the main one. You can come up with your own names for characters, but with meaning. You can compose them on the basis of other languages.
Step 4
Pay special attention to creatures and magic if you have such elements. Determine the laws of magic and its effects. Come up with great performers of this craft. Diversify the story of the appearance of different creatures. Usually they use mythical creatures, but inventing their own is also not condemned. Regardless of the time of your book, be it the Middle Ages or the distant future, elves, dwarves, orcs may appear.
Step 5
The quest is used as the main plot. This means that your hero or his team must find something, come somewhere, do something. There are no restrictions here, so fantasize. But do not get confused in the plot, do not rush things, but do not drag out. On the way of the hero, there may be new companions and several incidents. Add the opposition of good and evil. Use your own attributes and philosophy for each of them.
