The main characters of the epics are heroes. They reflect the ideal image of a courageous person devoted to his homeland. A single hero fights alone against hundreds of enemies. Drawing heroes of epics is not an easy task, but you can learn everything if you wish.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - pencil;
- - eraser;
- - pencil sharpener.
Instructions
Step 1
The most ancient epics about older heroes are often associated with mythology. The heroes of such works are the personification of unidentified forces. Monumental images of heroes and their grandiose achievements are the fruit of artistic generalization through the embodiment in one person of the strength and abilities of a people or a whole social group.
Step 2
Use a pencil drawing style. This style opens up endless possibilities of drawing, allows you to most realistically convey many shades and nuances, transitions of light and shade to the grace of tone. Take a hard pencil to use in the initial stages of your drawing. If something goes wrong, the lines can be easily erased with an eraser.
Step 3
Start drawing the character's face with the eyebrows. It is the eyebrows that first of all express the character of the hero. Define the line of the nose and add a crease between the eyebrows to give the future expression a romantic heroic look. Draw nostrils only if they can tell something about the character of the depicted hero (for example, large, hairy nostrils - for a negative character). Draw quick, casual lines for the cheekbone and chin.
Step 4
Then draw the eyes. It seems that this is not easy, however, for drawing the heroes of epics, a few straight lines will be enough. Start drawing the eyelids, iris and pupil (it is better to use a soft pencil). Now you can see where your hero is looking. Use refinement touches for more emphasis.
Step 5
Simplify the drawing of the ears to a reasonable level, a couple of lines, and you're done. Remember that the height of the ears is approximately equal to the size of the nose.
Step 6
Draw the mouth. You may need to tweak your chin a bit to keep things proportional. Define the forehead, cheekbone and neck. Everything is ready to draw the hair. Draw the hair of the arms and shoulders in short, quick strokes, barely touching the paper.
Step 7
Do not forget about chain mail and a horse - these are the main attributes of heroes. Drawing a horse and chain mail usually does not cause difficulties and easily comes out for a person who has the slightest skills in the field of depicting heroes of epics.
Step 8
Complete all details and mark shadows for possible later painting using gouache (possibly watercolor).
