Diego was born on May 20, 1955 in the family of the Milanese father of a shoemaker and the mother of a theatrical costume designer. The family lived modestly on the outskirts of Aretusa, so the boy spends most of the time with his paternal grandparents in Milan (Italy). Mom often at home created images for the artists of the night Derby club, painted costumes and scenery. The boy watched her work closely, imagining himself on stage, but thought about a more practical profession.

The first steps towards creativity were taken in the early seventies, when the young guy joined the cabaret group Repellents. It was the brainchild of Uncle Diego and his friends. As a boy, he often attended all rehearsals in the theater where his mother worked, saw and absorbed the actions on stage. It was much easier for him to get used to any action, to recreate this or that image. He had an attractive appearance - a burning brunette with brown eyes, a radiant smile, a beautiful voice. Diego coped well with the assigned tasks, was well-versed in many actions, plots.
Along with participation in theatrical performances, the actor decided to try himself as a movie hero, to try on a new role for him. For the first time he appears on the screen in the movie "Free, Armed and Dangerous" (1976). This is followed by a series of films where Diego plays diverse characters that are not similar to each other.
