Ice figures look very impressive, with their help they decorate courtyards and squares, halls and playgrounds. You can make a figure out of ice yourself, but for this you have to work hard in the fresh air.
It is necessary
- - water;
- - ice;
- - a container for freezing;
- - freezer or balcony in winter;
- - sample;
- - electric or chainsaw;
- - straight and angled scraper;
- - hairdryer;
- - blowtorch;
- - soft brush.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare ice for the figure. If you do not have the opportunity to buy or bring ice from a clean large reservoir (where it is the most transparent), make an ice block yourself. To do this, prepare wooden or metal containers, fill them with water and expose them to frost. To keep the ice clear, freeze boiled or distilled water.
Step 2
It is not necessary to freeze a large block of ice at once. If this is not possible, make a few small pieces. Lay the lower part on the base, fill with water and lay another part on top, freeze. So gradually work out the size of the base of the ice shape.
Step 3
Try to find a pattern from which you will make an ice figure. Take a child's toy, figurine. As a last resort, just print the image on paper.
Step 4
Use an electric or chainsaw to remove unnecessary corners, try to get the general outlines of the desired shape. Cut off the edges with a straight scraper, and use the corner one to create recesses, grooves, ornaments.
Step 5
Gradually achieve the desired effect by refining the shape over and over again. For smooth surfaces such as cheeks, nose, hands, use a blow dryer or blowtorch. Direct a hot jet from a distance onto the ice to melt gradually. Please note that the blowtorch can douse the figure with soot, which will be quite difficult to get rid of.
Step 6
Using the same hair dryer, setting the cold blowing mode, blow off the crumbs from the figure. You can also use soft brushes or a broom for this.
