It is necessary

  • - rope;
  • - unnecessary piece of fabric or gauze;
  • - main and lining fabric.

Instructions

Step 1

Hang the sagging rope on the window so that the bottom edge of your swag will be located. If the window will be decorated with 2 swagami - use 2 ropes.

Step 2

From the prepared gauze, cut out a template in which the length of the swag will be the width of the rope with the addition of 10 cm, and its length is determined arbitrarily, as you wish. However, it must be remembered that the maximum should not be more than 102 cm, the average size of the swag is 90 cm.

Step 3

Draw a straight line located 2.5 cm from the top, in the middle of the gauze, mark the width of the swag along the marked line. Then mark the center of the upper and lower line of the product and the middle of the lower edge of the gauze.

Step 4

Draw a line centered in the middle of the bottom edge, the length of which will be the length of the rope used at the beginning of the swag. After that, connect the marks with oblique lines. Using the resulting curve, mark the future folds, for which the length of the line is divided into an equal number of segments and outline these places on the fabric.

Step 5

Gather the folds marked on the top line on gauze, pin them with pins to give the swag its future shape. If necessary, you can correct the position of the folds. At the end, you need to cut off the excess and remove the pins from the fabric, loosening the folds.

Step 6

Fold this template in length and check if the sides are the same or not. If necessary, trim the fabric to keep the sides symmetrical, after which the template can be used to cut the swag from the base fabric as well as the lining fabric. It is also necessary to remember about the seam allowances, which from the bottom of the product should be about 1.5 cm.

Step 7

Sew the lining and the main fabric together, placing the fabrics with the right side inward, turn the product inside out and zigzag the raw edges, after which it remains to fold and stitch the folds, attach the bar and decorate the window with a swag.
