Delicate blue forget-me-nots are considered by many peoples to be a symbol of love and fidelity. They grow on all continents, and in many languages for these modest flowers there are names that are similar in meaning. Forget-me-nots are more convenient to draw not with a brush, but with a swab.

How to draw a forget-me-not

It is necessary

  • - paper;
  • - tampon;
  • - gouache, watercolor or acrylic paints;
  • - pastel;
  • - a picture with a picture of a forget-me-not.

Instructions

Step 1

Consider a forget-me-not flower or a picture of it. You will see that it consists of a yellow or orange center and five round blue petals. The petals are the same, so you can draw them using a stamp or swab.

Step 2

Make a tampon. Cut off a piece of foam and wrap it around the end of the pencil. Attach the foam with thread or tape. Having made two tampons, you will be able to draw yellow centers for one, and blue petals for the other. This is convenient if you want to depict a lot of forget-me-nots, because these flowers almost never grow alone.

Step 3

Forget-me-nots are usually scattered over a green meadow, so tint the leaf green. Dampen the paper with a foam sponge. You can let the leaf dry a little, but this is not necessary. Spread the paint all over the sheet using the same sponge or thick brush. Let the paper dry.

Step 4

Start drawing forget-me-not from the middle. Draw yellow or orange paint on the swab and put a bold dot on the sheet. The thicker the tampons, the larger the forget-me-nots will turn out. Draw some more midpoints. Wash the swab or use another. Draw five identical blue petals around each center. They can vary in color - some are blue, others are almost purple. It depends on the lighting.

Step 5

Long stems can be painted with a thin brush. Draw lines with the tip. Draw long narrow leaves with the same brush. Start drawing from the stem with the tip, then gradually increase the pressure. Draw the middle of the sheet flat, and lift the brush again towards the end.

Step 6

To paint forget-me-not in pastels, use green velvet paper. In this case, a cotton swab is more suitable. Likewise, wrap a piece of cotton wool around a pencil and secure it with thread. Rub the pastel on sandpaper. Dip a swab first in a yellow one and make a yellow round spot. Draw round blue or blue petals around it in the same way.
