Velcro tape, more popularly known as Velcro or contact tape, is very widely used in the clothing and footwear industry as a fastener. It is especially popular on children's clothing, as it relieves babies from the need to fiddle with buttons, locks and laces. Recently, Velcro is often used on children's toys and rugs for attaching applications and removable parts. Such a fastener consists of two parts: on one part of the tape there are micro-hooks, and on the other - elastic fibers. When two parts come into contact, instant contact occurs, the parts are firmly connected. However, for the Velcro to work well and reliably, it must be properly sewn to the garment.

Step 1
You need to sew the fastener along the flat edge of the tape, on which there are no loops and hooks, that is, along the perimeter of the Velcro. It is important that the stitches do not touch the work surface, otherwise the parts will not be tightly attached to each other. But you don't need to sew too close to the edge of the tape, the fastener can come off with a sharp jerk. The fleecy side should face up and the hooked side down.
Step 2
The method of fastening the fastener depends on the type of product. In some cases it can be overlapped, in others with a strap.

Otherwise, the Velcro tape is attached to the lambrequin. Take a strip of fabric that you cut out, about ten centimeters wide, and fold it in half. Sew the fleecy part of the Velcro to the fold. Sew the front part of the lambrequin with the front part of the resulting tape, trying not to touch the working surface of the Velcro and align the seams. Next, sew the lambrequin from the seamy side. And glue the hooked part of the fastener to the cornice.
Step 4
Most velcro ribbons are black, so it is better to sew them with black threads. In some cases, you can make contrasting stitches with white or beige threads, but the line should be perfectly straight. In any case, the color of the threads must be selected based on the desired overall appearance of the product.
Step 5
Velcro straps are quite dense, so it is better to work with a thick, strong needle and thimble. This will make the job safe.
