Computer, Photoshop program

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to decide on the photo you want to frame. Open a file using the "File" - "Open As" commands.

Step 2

Next, you need to create a new channel, for this select the "Channels" palette and, using the "Create a new channel" quick button, create it. It will automatically be named "Alpha 1". Our image will turn completely black. Don't panic, the photo hasn't gone anywhere!

Step 3

Now using the Rectangular Selection Tool, create a rectangle on our black background. You should indent from the edges as wide as you see the future frame. Now we, using the command "Selection" - "Invert Selection" (or in the latest versions of Photoshop this command is called "Inversion"), select the frame itself. Subsequently, to speed up the process, you can use the ++ hotkeys for this program function. The next step is to fill the future frame with white. To do this, use the command "Edit" - "Fill" (Run fill), in the window that appears: "Content" - "Use" - "White". We confirm the action with the OK button. We should now have a black rectangle with a white border. Remove selection: "Selection" - "Deselect" (Deselect).

Step 4

Now you can use some kind of filter. For example, "Filter" - "Texture" - "Stained Glass". You can experiment with the settings.

Step 5

Go back to the Channels palette and select the RGB channel. Next, load the frame we created. Choose "Selection" - "Load selection" (Load selection), then "Edit" - "Fill" (Fill) with background color. Admire the result.
