Modeling develops imagination and creativity in both children and adults. It is very tempting to make a model of an old frigate with your own hands. Such a craft will perfectly decorate the interior of the room and will attract the attention of guests of the house. It remains to choose the appropriate type of ship, arm yourself with materials, tools and start building a model.

Instructions
Step 1
Pick up blueprints for the future ship. They can be found in specialized modeling magazines or downloaded from specialized Internet portals.
Step 2
Transfer pictures of ship parts onto tracing paper or transfer paper. If necessary, increase or decrease the structural elements by changing the scale.
Step 3
Transfer the contours of the elements of the future ship to a sheet of thin plywood or thick cardboard. Saw out the plywood parts with a jigsaw, and carefully cut out the cardboard parts with a sharp knife or scissors. File the edges of the wooden elements with a file and sandpaper.
Step 4
Connect the ship parts with all-purpose glue. Sequentially glue each element to the main structure so that the end result is the skeleton of the ship. Attach sheathing elements to the frame. It is best to make the cladding made of thick cardboard. As a result, you should get the ship's hull, finished with the selected material from the sides and deck.
Step 5
Install masts and other deck equipment. In some models, you will have to deal with the armament of the ship. Cannon models can be crafted from cardboard scraps and metal foil. Try to work out all the small details of the ship's equipment to give the model a more authentic look.
Step 6
Engage in the manufacture and installation of rigging. Choose thick, harsh threads that will imitate ropes. When making sails, try to give them a natural look. To do this, it is better to sew stitches not on a sewing machine, but by hand. The type and number of sails must correspond to the original.
Step 7
When the model is basically finished, paint the ship. Be guided by the images of the real vessel, pictures and photographs of the prototype. Leave the model to dry. When the glue and paint are completely dry, place the ship on a stand and find a worthy place for it in your home interior.
