The film story tells about three officers - Alexander, Pavel and Georges. They all live on Prechistenka.

Georges and his young wife settled in the same house where Alexander lived with his parents. Nastya, a beautiful girl from a poor family, lived in the same courtyard. When she became orphaned, noble people took her to them.
During the celebration of the new year 1900, the gentlemen began to launch fireworks, a spark ignited the hay, and a fire began, which spread to the house. The tenants were rescued, but Anastasia remained on the top floor. Alexander helped her to get out, and the fire of the fire spread to their souls - the young people fell in love with each other.
But Alex had to propose to Pavel's sister - Sophia, however, fell in love with another. Standing up for the honor of his sister, Pavel challenged his friend to a duel and wounded him. But the friendship was not destined to be upset. When the pre-revolutionary unrest began and Pavel was wounded, Alex took him to the hospital and rescued him.
The love of the main characters - Alexander and Anastasia - went through many years, overcame the troubled times.
The love of Georges and Clara was not so strong. The woman liked her acting craft more. She accepted the courtship of fans, but then a lot has changed.
The film shows not only the events of the October Revolution, but also the Great Patriotic War.
