Not a single children's Christmas tree is complete without a costume performance, and in Russian fairy tales, animals are very often the characters. Preparing for the holiday long before the event itself creates the appropriate atmosphere. If you and your child make a fancy dress, for example, a wolf, then your holiday will last much longer!

It is necessary

Gray faux fur with long pile, gray gabardine, sequins, threads with a needle, sewing machine, scissors

Instructions

Step 1

Take the child's pajama pants and use them to make a pattern for the wolf costume. Cut out the trousers from the gray gabardine, leaving 1cm for seam allowances. Sew the side and crotch seams on a typewriter, wrap the top of the pants and make a drawstring for the elastic. Hem the bottom of the trousers, having previously tried them on for the child, and insert the elastic.

Step 2

Cut strips of gray fur 7-8 cm wide, sew them on the bottom of the trousers, just above and below the knee and on the sides. For a festive look, wash sequins where there are no fur inserts. Cut and sew a wolf's tail out of gray fur, sew it by hand to the back of the trousers. The pants for the wolf costume are ready.

Step 3

Remove the pattern from the child's pajama jacket and cut out all the details from gray fur, sleeves can be made from gabardine. Cut the fur carefully so as not to damage the pile - from the inside closer to the fabric base with small movements of very sharp scissors or a blade. Sew the shoulder and side seams and process the cuts so that they do not fall off. Make a stand-up collar out of a bent rectangular piece of fur cut to the side. If you have cut out gabardine sleeves, sew fur strips on them, like on trousers. Stitch the sleeves and fold over the hem.

Step 4

Sew the sleeves into the armholes, carefully use a darning needle to release the fur pile caught in the seams. Fold up the bottom of the jacket and sew in special fur hooks or hidden buttons. Sew sequins on the entire garment as you see fit.

Step 5

Cut the simplest round hat to fit the child's head, you can use just two halves. Be sure to make a lining so that the lint does not prick your child's forehead and head. Cut out the ears - fur and gabardine triangles. Sew the ears, turn them out and sew into the side seams of the cap, sew the seam and sew the lining. Try on a wolf costume for a child and fix minor bugs.
