The Russian detective series "Reflection" first appeared on screens in 2011 and quickly gained popularity among viewers with its unusual and sad storyline. So what is the story of this series, where the talented actress Olga Pogodina played the main role?
Plot description
Elizaveta Kruglova, a former police major, was jailed for racketeering in the 1990s along with a criminal group she organized. The woman received a long sentence, and her little daughter Polina was taken to an orphanage. For Elizabeth's exemplary behavior in prison, she receives parole, but shortly before him, the woman learns that she has brain cancer and she has only a few months to live.
The idea of creating the plot of the TV series "Reflection" was borrowed by the producers from the news release.
At the same time, a maniac is operating on the territory of Moscow, killing children. Investigator Daria Eremina is engaged in his capture, who manages to get on the trail of the killer and even wound him - but due to the loss of the main evidence of crimes, the investigator herself ends up in the dock. Eremina finds herself in the same cell with Elizaveta Kruglova, who offers Daria a desperate step - to switch faces with the help of a prison friend who worked as a plastic surgeon at large. As a result, Elizabeth-Darya will die, and Darya-Elizabeth will soon be released and take Polina from the orphanage, having received Kruglova's large fortune in gratitude.
Filming the series
The producers took the idea for the series from a real-life surgical clinic in Primorye, where people made other faces for themselves. Catching on to this theme, the creators of "Reflection" have created a real psychological thriller about two women, one of whom gets a unique chance to live the life of another person. The series differs from other Russian TV series in the amount of special effects and a frantic rhythm, as well as in complex plot lines - after all, the main character returns to her husband, who thinks that she is dead, with a completely different face.
The filming process of "Reflection" took place in the women's colony of Mozhaisk, where the most real criminals were serving time.
During the filming, the film crew and actors filmed scenes everywhere - from punishment cells to the offices of the authorities. More than 5,000 women serving sentences on the territory of the colony acted as extras. Thanks to the crew of the series, one innocently convicted woman was released, who was planted with drugs by a common-law husband - and everyone in the colony knew about it. The creators of "Reflection" appealed to the program "Man and the Law", its journalists filmed the plot and the prisoner was released, having found her innocent.
