You can make soft toys with your own hands in different ways. Craftswomen sew them from fur and fabric, knit and crochet. Very cute and fluffy animal toys are obtained by using the dry felting technique.
It is necessary
- - wool for felting the desired shades;
- - sewing needle;
- - needles for felting №38 and №40;
- - reverse needle;
- - sponge;
- - threads;
- - scissors;
- - ready-made eyes for toys or half beads;
- - glue gun.
Instructions
Step 1
Make a toy head. Take a small bundle of wool, roll a ball out of it with your hands. Put it on a special sponge and begin to roll with a # 38 needle, piercing the workpiece through and through. While felting, add more fibers to make the part more voluminous.
Step 2
Shape the head with the # 40 needle. Smooth the surface of the element. From the side of the face, make the part flat.
Step 3
Take another small bundle. Form an oval out of it. Attach toys to the muzzle and weld with a # 40 needle, forming the cheeks.
Step 4
To give the toy a more natural look, tear off a small amount of wool of a different shade, lighter or darker than the main one, stretch it a little, attach it to the head and stick with a needle. Roll the cheeks of the toy with white wool.
Step 5
Roll a small ball out of pink yarn that will serve as the nose of the toy. Attach it to your face.
Step 6
Make the torso of the toy. Tear off a tuft of wool and shape it into a tapered shape with your hands. Place the piece on the sponge and poke it with a # 38 needle to make it elongated. Then, with a thinner felting needle, smooth the surface of the body, make small indentations in the places where the front and hind legs of the toy will be attached.
Step 7
Form the paws. Take a bun of your base color. Roll a sausage out of it and felle the part for the foot. Do the rest in the same way. To keep the toy stable on its feet, make the lower part of the hind legs wider. Sew the head and paws to the body with strong nylon threads.
Step 8
Match the details for the ears. To do this, take 2 beams of the base color of equal size. Tangle the fibers slightly. Place the wool on a sponge and form 2 identical flat pieces. Take the element in your hand and process the edges of the ears with a small needle, at the same time giving them the desired shape. Place your ears to your head and roll.
Step 9
For the peephole, use ready-made elements (you can buy them at a craft store) or black half-beads. Use a glue gun to glue them to your face. Make the eyebrows from black wool, and the tongue from pink or red fibers.
Step 10
To make a felted toy fluffy, use a reverse needle to pierce the product several times on the head and body. Do this until you get the desired result.
