It is necessary

  • - non-spun wool,
  • - special needles for felting,
  • - foam sponge,
  • - synthetic winterizer,
  • - beads for the eyes.

Instructions

Step 1

To felle a toy using the wet felting technique, you need a cardboard template. Look at the silhouette of the future toy, draw it on cardboard and cut out two blanks. Place them together and wrap with duct tape.

Step 2

Take some wool and wrap your template in different directions. After wrapping up a sufficient amount of wool, moisten and soap the workpiece. Use liquid soap and a spray bottle for this.

Step 3

Put the soapy part in boiling water, then soap it again. This will help the wool to fall off. Rinse the toy with clean running water.

Step 4

Cut the product in the abdomen and remove the cardboard. Dry the part. In the meantime, it is drying, felle a piece of wool, from which in the future, cut out the ears. Dump the flagellum from which the tail will turn out. Dry all parts well.

Step 5

When all this is dry, fill the torso with padding polyester and sew up the abdomen. Cut out the ears and sew them to the head. Sew on the ponytail. Make antennae, for example, from fishing line, and eyes and nose from beads.

Step 6

In the dry felting technique, it is not necessary to moisten the wool and dip it in boiling water. To shape the torso of the toy, knock out the shape. Take a piece of wool, place it on a foam sponge and poke with a large felting needle (no. 70-90). To avoid breaking the needle, keep it perpendicular to the felting surface.

Step 7

When the fibers are no longer separating, proceed to finishing with a smaller needle. This way, there will be no visible needle holes on the surface. Use a needle to form the shape of the head, neck.

Step 8

Match the legs, ears, and tail in the same way. Attach the pieces to the torso and attach with a needle. To be more reliable, the details should be sewn on. Make the nose and eyes out of beads.

Step 9

If small children are engaged in such needlework, then this must be done under the supervision of parents, since the needles for felting are very sharp. And in the technique of wet felting, only adults can lower the workpiece into boiling water.
