It is necessary

  • - the cloth;
  • - threads;
  • - sewing machine;
  • - scissors;
  • - tape measure;
  • - frills, ribbons for decoration.

Instructions

Step 1

Select the material for the outfit; this is a very important step. The traditional color for a sundress is red. In any case, pay attention to the quality and brightness of the fabric; Russian sundress should be very bright, preferably one-color or with a discreet ornamental pattern. If you already have a shirt for a sundress, choose the fabric for it (for example, for a shirt with a blue trim, you can choose blue or light blue).

Step 2

Make a sundress pattern. To do this, measure the girl's height from armpit to floor - this will be the length of a sundress (an adult outfit is usually sewn to the floor, but for a child, raise the hem by a few centimeters). With the help of a measuring tape, find out the girth of the chest, increase it 2 or 2, 5 times - this will be the width of the sundress skirt. If there is a possibility and desire, flare the sundress down; to do this, make it in two or four parts, expanding towards the hem.

Step 3

Uncover the rest of the pieces. Draw a strip with a length that matches the girth of the chest (plus 6 cm on each side) and a width of 10-12 cm - this will be a yoke. Cut out the straps about 8-10 cm wide and at least 40 cm long (then cut off the excess when trying on).

Step 4

Sew the side seams if you decide to sew a sundress in the Russian style from several parts, and overcast the edges (if there is no overlock, sew with a "zigzag" seam). Place one seam at the back and do not sew it all the way to the end, leaving a small release for the fastener. Fold over the edges of the closure and sew 1 cm from the edge in the shape of an inverted P.

Step 5

On the top of the skirt, make a line with large stitches and pull it so that its length is 4 cm less than the length of the yoke, distribute the folds evenly. Sew on the yoke, aligning it in the center, as a result, the seam should be in the area of the fastener. Overcast the edge of the yoke along with the top edge of the skirt.

Step 6

Fold the yoke strip in half so that the ends are sewn from the inside out. Then turn them out, fold over the free side of the yoke, baste by hand, and then sew on the machine (if you are not sure that you can sew straight, sew on the wrong side of the yoke with blind stitches).

Step 7

Neaten and tap the hem of the sundress. Sew a button on the yoke and make a buttonhole on the other side.

Step 8

Sew the straps from the inside out along the length and turn inside out. Sew to the front of the sundress so that the edge is hidden from the inside. Put on a sundress on the girl and try on the length of the straps, cut off the excess. Sew on the straps at the back so that they do not fall off the shoulders, it is better to sew them closer to the center (to the fastener).

Step 9

Trim the sundress along the hem, along the top, along the straps with decorative frills, embroidery, edging, ribbons in the Russian style.
