Counter-Strike version 1.6 brought an unpleasant surprise to fans of the entire series of games in the form of tactical shields. Equipped with such a device, the player turns into a heavy tank, which cannot be penetrated by any of the guns in the game. While shields are prohibited in official tournaments and championships, in private matches, players still wonder how to rid the game of this impenetrable obsession.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to play Counter-Strike without shields, you need to start the game and wait for the game world to load. This can take from a few seconds to several minutes, depending on the power of your computer.
Step 2
Make sure that the Counter-Strike installed on your computer supports the ability to play with game artificial intelligence software modules that replace a real enemy, that is, with bots.
Step 3
If your game does not support playing with bots, you will have to install them manually before starting the game. To do this, download one of the free bot programs, for example, Zbot. Unzip the downloaded file, place the resulting folder in the game directory (by default, this is the Cstrike folder on the C drive). Do not forget to confirm the replacement of some files when copying.
Step 4
Enter your preferred command, then bring up the console by pressing the "~" button on your keyboard. In the console, you need to register the bot_allow_shield X command. Instead of the X position, you can enter the values 0 and 1, where 0 is a ban on the purchase and use of shields by bots, 1 is a permission.
Step 5
You can also prohibit the purchase of shields permanently. To do this, download the free No_shields plugin for Counter-Strike 1.6. Unpack the resulting archive and move the files with the.amx extension to the cstrike / addons / amxmodx / plugins directory, and the files with the.sma extension to the cstrike / addons / amxmodx / scripting directory. The disadvantage of this plugin is that to play without shields, you need to be the creator of a specific network game.
