Most renowned artists have used a variety of techniques in their quest for a multifaceted depiction of an object. The choice depended on what the artist wanted to emphasize.
It is necessary
A sheet of smooth paper, fountain pen, waterproof black ink
Instructions
Step 1
Initial sketch. Draw the outlines of the head and shoulders. Then, while constantly checking the proportions, begin to outline the location of the limbs and torso. Apply ink with light, subtle lines so that you can correct the mistake.
Step 2
Complete the outline drawing. Draw the feet, outline the fingers on the sitter's left hand, outline the legs of the chair, and then draw the outline of the baggy trousers with folds on the right leg.
Step 3
Describe the outline of the body. Mark the shape of the body with the folds of the clothing adjacent to it. Since there will be no chiaroscuro in this drawing, depict the folds on the sitter's shirt with lines, rather than shaded areas of tone.
Step 4
Draw the face. Work on the facial features to give it a portrait look. Draw the hairline and the outline of the chin, and then the eyebrows, eyes and nose of the sitter with thin, barely visible lines. Instead of describing the outline of the mouth with a solid line, simply draw a line along which the lips meet, and then outline the model's upper and lower lips with light strokes.
Step 5
Draw the clothes. Work out the outlines of the letters on the shirt, their shape should follow the outline of the chest and the slope of the sitter's shoulders. Sketch the pattern on the shirt. Draw the details of the toes and then the deep folds on the right leg.
Step 6
Final touches. Finally, add a few small details - describe the sneakers and the pattern on the front of the shirt and its sleeve. Deepen the pleats on the pants with more intense ink lines. Finish drawing the chair.
