Hats for babies are knitted from cotton threads or velor. They turn out to be delicate and soft and wash very well. It is not worth using threads and patterns that are difficult for knitting for very young children. The hat should be comfortable, lightweight, soft and free of any seams.

It is necessary

  • - Knitting;
  • - knitting needles;
  • - hook;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

This hat-cap is knitted for children aged from birth to 1, 5 months, no more.

Cast on 17 loops on the needles, knit a rectangular fabric 32 rows long with a 1: 1 elastic band. This will be the back of the cap.

Step 2

To knit a hat for a newborn without seams, on both sides of the rectangular cloth, cast on 16 loops on additional knitting needles, knit the first row and 17 medium loops with front loops, as well as hooked loops on both sides of the canvas.

Step 3

Begin to knit from the right edge with front loops and after every two loops, pull a loop from the broach onto the knitting needle. You should have 24 stitches on the knitting needle.

Step 4

Continue knit middle - 17 sts. This is the top of the cap.

Step 5

On the left knitting needle, make a mirror-like increase from the broach every two loops. There should be 24 stitches on the left needle.

Step 6

Now count all the stitches on the knitting needles. There should be 65 stitches in work (24 + 17 + 24).

Step 7

The most practical way is to knit a hat for a newborn with a front satin stitch. But you can use any simple pattern you want. So knit 32 more rows in the selected pattern straight.

Step 8

Finish knitting with a 1: 1 elastic band. Work 6 more rows like this.

Step 9

Close the hinges.

Step 10

To decorate the hat, crochet the edges with single crochets.

Step 11

Weave a lace, insert it into the edge of the cap, tied with an elastic band. You can also make tassels at the ends of the laces as decorations. It is inconvenient to make pompons for newborns.

Step 12

You can use a narrow ribbon as a tie, which you can thread through the bottom of the beanie and tie it with a bow.

Step 13

You can knit such a hat quickly, in two hours. If desired, take threads of different thicknesses and knitting needles of the appropriate sizes and knit a hat for the baby for several months using this description.

Step 14

If you decide to knit a hat for the cold season, prepare medium-thick woolen yarn, 5 stocking needles, 2 straight needles, a darning needle, and a crochet hook.

Step 15

Measure the circumference of your baby's head above the eyebrow line and the bulging part of the back of the head. Add another 1 cm to the result so that the hat can be easily put on. In addition, keep in mind that the hat will turn out to be thick, double, so it should be loose.

Step 16

For the convenience of trying on the product, put a ready-made cap in front of you.

Before starting knitting, tie a test piece to calculate the knitting density. Attach a ruler to the finished canvas and count how many loops fit in one centimeter. Multiply the resulting number by the measurement of the baby's head circumference. Cast on the knitting needles the required number of loops, distribute them on four knitting needles and knit 6-8 cm in a circle with a 1x1 elastic band (1 front, 1 purl). This elastic fabric will be the future hem of the double placket of the bottom of the beanie.

Step 17

Next, transfer the knitting to larger knitting needles and knit the hat with the front satin stitch (or any embossed pattern). Attach the cap to the baby's head to adjust the height of the item. At a distance of 8-9 cm from the crown in every second row, gradually decrease the loops, knitting two adjacent loops into one. Decrease the loops at the same distance from each other. Reduce each row by no more than 8 loops. The gradual decrease in the loops will allow the cap to neatly round the top.

Step 18

When the cap is high enough, close the remaining loops and gather them tightly with thread. Pull the cut off "tail" of the thread to the wrong side of the product. The top of the hat is ready. Now you need to knit the inside of the hat.

Step 19

To do this, turn the product inside out and dial the required number of loops from the seamy side from the last row of the elastic strap. They should be 3-5 less than when knitting the top of the cap. Use a soft yarn such as baby acrylic to knit the inner cap. It is flexible and pleasant to use. It is better to knit this part on ordinary knitting needles with the front stitch in straight and reverse rows (in the front rows, knit with front loops, in the wrong rows - with purl). It is more convenient to knit this part of the cap with straight knitting needles.

Step 20

After 2-3 cm from the crown, finish the open loops and sew to the outer part of the cap. Sew on the inner lining.

21

Now the case remains for the "ears". For them, from the inside of the hat, cast enough loops for the width of the ears and knit them with the front stitch or garter stitch 3 cm in height. To keep the ears rounded, in every second row, decrease the loops by knitting two loops into one. In total, you need to subtract 8 times one loop at a time. To do this, make an edge loop, remove the loop, then pull the next front loop through the removed loop.

22

Now fold the bar in half (it was knitted at the beginning, with an elastic band), tuck it inward and sew with threads to match the color. Sew the ties to the ears. They can be crocheted, knitted or braided from threads in several folds. Line up the ties. If you wish, you can decorate the hat with a flower (for a girl) or a pompom.

23

In a couple of hours you will knit this hat too. For her, measure the circumference of the head from the forehead to the chin. Apply the measuring tape as if it were a hat. Tie a test piece to calculate the knitting density. Then dial the number of loops equal to the result of measuring the head circumference by the number of loops in 1 centimeter. It is better to use circular knitting needles in work.

24

Tie 2-4 rows with a single elastic band (one front, one purl). Then knit the hat itself. It can be knitted with a variety of patterns: "corn", "honeycomb", elastic, front satin stitch or garter stitch. Also try knitting it like a double toe heel. To do this, knit one front loop in even rows, reshoot one loop. Purl all odd rows. Thus, knit a fabric 7-8 cm wide. For convenience, attach the fabric (or measure with a tape) to the baby's head. It should extend from the forehead to the crown. When the fabric of the hat is knitted to the desired length, divide the loops into three parts: two larger (for the sides), and one (in the center) smaller. This will be the back of the hat. When descending the cap, the middle part is knitted as when descending the heel. That is, knit two together in one loop, grabbing the loop from the center and the previous one at the beginning of the row and the last and the next one at the end of the row. When there are loops of the middle part of the cap on the knitting needles, close them. Make strings, crochet or knitting. Sew on to the cap.
