If you have taken several successful photographs, but from time to time you come across fuzzy pictures among them, do not rush to delete the photographs, considering them hopelessly spoiled. If the camera is out of focus in some of the photos, and they turn out to be a little blurry, you can enhance the clarity of photos in Adobe Photoshop without reducing the quality of the photo and without increasing extraneous noise in the image.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the fuzzy photo in Photoshop and choose Channels from the Window menu to open the Channels palette. Choose the brightest channel corresponding to the area of the photo you want to sharpen.
Step 2
Usually this channel is red - click on it and then drag it manually onto the Create New Channel icon. You have created a copy of the red channel - apply the Glowing Edges filter to it by choosing it from the Filter -> Stylize menu. Adjust the filter so that the Edge Width is 1, the Brightness is 17, and the Softness is 4.
Step 3
Hold down the Ctrl button on the keyboard, and then, without releasing the key, click on the red channel icon to trigger the selection of the desired area. Delete the channel copy by right-clicking on it and selecting the Delete Current Channel option, and then open the layers palette (click Window -> Layer in the menu, if the layers palette is not displayed in the main program window).
Step 4
On the layers palette, press Ctrl + H to temporarily hide the selection. Then select the Sharpen -> Unsharp Mask option from the Filter menu. Choose the filter settings according to your individual photo - set the appropriate radius, volume and filter threshold level.
Step 5
Preview the result by clicking the preview button. Click on the Ctrl + J keys to clone the selection on a new layer. In the filters menu, select the Sharpen -> Sharpen Edges option. Your photo will become noticeably clearer and more beautiful.
