Immediately after the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite in the USSR in 1957, modelers all over the world began to build bench models of rockets. Such a model does not fly, but simply decorates the interior of the room in which it is installed.

Instructions

Step 1

Ask the plumber for a piece of plastic water pipe about 8 centimeters in diameter and about 20 centimeters long. Such short lengths of pipes are considered waste by plumbers.

Step 2

Make a stand out of chipboard. Drill a hole about 5 millimeters in diameter in the middle of it. Next to it, install a bracket that is four centimeters shorter than the length of the pipe. Attach a small flashlight bulb to the bracket. Pull the wires from it through the hole so that they are on the bottom of the stand.

Step 3

Equip the stand with soft feet to prevent it from scratching the table or pinching the wires.

Step 4

On a piece of pipe, make a side hole so that it is exactly opposite the light bulb. Tighten it from the inside with a piece of plastic cut from a plastic bottle of the desired color. This will be a porthole.

Step 5

Place the pipe on the support so that the bulb is in front of the hole and in the center of the pipe. Glue it to the base in this position. Leave the structure in this form for a day so that the glue is completely dry.

Step 6

Make four identical right-angled triangles from thick cardboard. Glue them to the pipe on four sides to create imitation stabilizers.

Step 7

Glue a small cone out of paper. The diameter of the base of this cone must be equal to the diameter of the pipe. Glue it to the top of the rocket model.

Step 8

Paint the rocket and base using gouache. Apply the desired drawings, inscriptions on it.

Step 9

Connect the light bulb to the power supply, the voltage of which is one and a half to two times less than its nominal. Thanks to the power supply with reduced voltage, it will not burn out for a long time, which is especially important for the reason that all the connections in the model are adhesive, and its disassembly is difficult. Do not leave the model with the light on unattended.
