George Lucas, creating his "Star Wars" created something more than just a film - this is a whole universe, which can be supplemented and expanded for an infinitely long time. Therefore, fans of this saga are not afraid to experiment and regularly create their own, amateur mini-films.

Step 1
Do not contradict the events of the film license. It is considered a canon, describes a complete and "correct" development of events. Therefore, your script should in no way contradict individual events in the series (for example, if you describe the life of a young Anakin, then do not say that he spent his childhood among the Wookiees). It is possible that you deliberately change the key facts, but in this case, you need to put special emphasis on this (for example, the first Death Star was not destroyed, and the rebels were finally defeated). The alternate story will certainly be very interesting, but try to make it believable.
Step 2
Avoid using famous characters. The appearance of the key persons of the story is exactly the same canon for the viewer, as well as the plot events. Imagine someone portraying Master Yoda as a tall athlete in their film: when watching Star Wars fans, there will be an obvious contradiction that greatly interferes with the perception of the tape. It is not worth using characters from the main series for this very reason - because of the discrepancy with the appearance of Hollywood actors. The only exception to the general rule is Darth Vader, whose mask is easy to copy.
Step 3
Think carefully about the visual style. A film shot in a neighbor's kitchen with outfits made from sheets will never be of high quality. The scenery and costumes are key to the viewer's perception of the story, because if you cannot get close to the original in this regard, then the viewer will not be able to feel the spirit that you were trying to recreate. If there is no suitable scenery, then consider shooting "against a green background" - even amateur editing techniques help to make the background very realistic.
Step 4
Check out Star Wars: Revelations. This is an amateur film with an absolutely meager budget, but performed at such a level that it earned praise from George Lucas himself. While watching, pay attention to the abundance of computer graphics, which replaced shooting on the spot, and carefully monitor the costumes of the characters - the clothes of the heroes can be bought in any store, but they must be chosen very carefully.
