Step 1
For a baby double hat, you will need at least 200-300 g of yarn. When buying, consider both the weight of the skein and the length of the thread. The thicker the yarn, the shorter the length will be. You can knit a hat for a girl with your own hands using pink or white yarn.
Step 2
Start knitting a hat by calculating the required number of loops. Tie a small sample and count the number of loops in one centimeter. Next, measure the circumference of the child's head and multiply the resulting volume by the given number of loops. For example, if your head circumference is 30 centimeters and you counted 3 loops in 1 cm, multiply 30 by 4 to get the exact number for a full-size hat - 90 loops.
Step 3
Cast on 40 stitches on long needles and tie a tight elastic around the back of the head, adding one stitch on both sides in every fourth row. After four additions, you should have 48 stitches on the needles. Use circular knitting needles and cast on 42 more stitches. Pass the elastic band around 3 cm, then go to the main pattern.
Step 4
Use tourniquets, braids, English elastic, or any pattern you like. The "English gum" pattern is quite popular and simple. The scheme for knitting it is as follows: knit the first row with front loops: having made one loop, complete the yarn, then remove the second loop without knitting it, and repeat the report to the end of the row. Knit the second row with purl loops: starting with the yarn over, transfer the loop from the left knitting needle to the right knitting needle and, without knitting, make the yarn over and knit it together with the purl one.
Step 5
Knit the subsequent rows, trying to make the product embossed and lush. Knitting for 33 rows and 28 loops has a density of 10x10 centimeters. With the main pattern, knit 14 centimeters, then proceed to subtractions. Knit together every 10th and 11th stitches. As soon as no more than 40 loops remain on the knitting needles, you can pull them together on a thread.
Step 6
Cast on the loops in a circle from the wrong side, at the last row of the elastic, and knit the bottom hat with the front stitch in the same size. Make a pom-pom by sewing it at the junction of the top and bottom caps. To do this, take heavy paper and fold it in half, drawing two circles from one center. The radius of one should be 10-12 cm, and the other 4-5 cm. You can add “ears” to the cap: To do this, cast on 27 loops with the main thread. Knit 4 rows with a 1x1 elastic band to the very end, starting to move from the front loop.
Step 7
Cut a circle without a core. Insert a 20 cm thread into the hole. Wind the yarn around the circle, pull it with a thread stretched in the middle, and cut along the upper radius, trimming the ends. Now make the ties, the girl's double winter hat will be ready. All you have to do is wash it in cold water and add rinse aid to soften the coat. Dry the product with a towel, then put it on the bottom and dry it flat.
