The type of garment depends not only on the quality of the fabric and beautiful stitching, but primarily on the accuracy of the pattern. The patterns themselves can be found in fashion magazines, built yourself or ordered from a studio. But the patterns must still be accurately transferred to the fabric, and so that the lines do not disappear during work.

Instructions
Step 1
The traditional way to transfer a pattern to fabric is with a regular school crayon or bar of soap. This option is suitable for dark fabrics that keep their shape well. These are, for example, drape, chintz, satin, velvet. In addition, this transfer method is best used when the parts of the product are symmetrical. Fold the cut in half along the right-hand side, wrong side out. Place the pattern so that the middle of the solid piece lines up with the fold. Arrange other details on a fractional basis. Trace the piece exactly along the contour with a sharply sharpened crayon or a dried bar of soap. Draw the darts carefully. You can make a second contour - along the edge of the allowance, but this is not necessary.
Step 2
To transfer a pattern to a light-colored fabric with a clear structure, you can use crayon. But before starting work, take a piece of the same fabric, paint on it with chalk and wash it. Unfortunately, colored chalk does not always wash well.
Step 3
The washable felt-tip pen is a great modern way of transferring patterns. It is suitable for absolutely all fabrics and can be used even if the clothes are sewn from asymmetrical parts. In Russian stores you can find such markers of German and Chinese production. The first ones are a little more expensive, but on the other hand they last longer. Make sure the felt tip is actually rinsed off before cutting. The transfer method is exactly the same as for chalk or soap. When cutting, place the parts along the share, unless a different arrangement is indicated on the pattern with an arrow.
Step 4
Some details, as well as cutting lines, on which the shape and fit of the product especially depends, are best cut using a special carbon copy and a copying wheel. This applies primarily to darts, decorative details, etc. The carbon copy is applied with a coloring layer on the seamy side of the product, on it there is a pattern. Drag the wheel along the contours of the part you want (you can buy it at a sewing store or online). There will be a dotted line on the front side that won't wear off for long enough.
