There are many methods and materials for making flowers with your own hands. The easiest to process and accessible to almost everyone are paper and fabric.
Paper flowers
Spectacular, large, bright and voluminous flowers are obtained using corrugated paper. To make them, you will need corrugated paper of several colors, paper clips, wire and scissors. A sheet of paper of the desired color is cut from the roll, and then folded like an accordion, the same is done with paper of other colors. The accordion-folded sheets are secured with paper clips at both ends. Then the accordions are cut in such a way that each next one is 3-5 cm shorter than the previous one.
Cut the corners of the paper cut to size, then outline the middle and put all the accordions together. They are straightened, and then pulled together with a wire in the center. The paper is folded back from the very first layers, forming petals.
Another common technique for making paper flowers is called quilling. Quilling paper is 0.5 cm wide strips of various colors. To make the simplest postcard in this way, quilling paper, scissors and PVA glue are useful.
In order to make a petal, a paper strip of the desired color is bent in the shape of a drop, then the same strip is twisted in this way several times, according to the rules 5-7 times, to obtain a volumetric element. When the required number of petals is made, they begin to make the middle of the flower. To do this, a paper strip is cut into a fringe and twisted into a tight cylinder, then glued onto a sheet of paper so that the fringe is on top, manually give it fluffiness. Petals are glued around the middle, then as many flowers are made on the card as originally conceived, of one or more shades.
Flowers from fabric
One of the simplest and most effective ways to make flowers from fabric is satin ribbons; the technique for making such flowers came from Japan and is called tsumami kanzashi. For making, you will need ribbons of different sizes, a ruler, a pencil or chalk, sharp scissors, glue and tweezers, a long thin needle and a strong thread. In order to melt the edges of a satin or nylon, it is most convenient to use a soldering iron, but you can also use a lighter, matches or a candle.
You can cut the fabric and ribbons with a knife or scissors, but a more economical result is obtained with a soldering iron, since this immediately melts the edge of the fabric, which prevents it from unraveling into separate threads.
The kanzashi technique is that many identical squares of fabric are folded diagonally and held together at the corners with glue or thread. Some folded the petals with tweezers, while others are more comfortable working with their fingers. The finished petals are collected on a string, and then fixed in the place where the flower should be. As the middle of the flower, you can use a bead, a beautiful button or a rhinestone. These flowers are used to decorate hairpins, brooches and hair ties.
