One of the most difficult drawing skills is considered to be the image of the human body. In order to draw a leg as correctly as possible, you need to know very well its structure from the point of view of anatomy.
It is necessary
- - paper
- - simple pencil
- - eraser
Instructions
Step 1
To learn how to draw human lower limbs, start by examining in detail the different depictions of feet in paintings, photographs, or drawings. Pay special attention to the muscle relief: in general, the structure of the muscles is the same for all people, the difference is only in the degree of muscle development. Try to remember how the position of the hip, ankle and foot changes in the lying, sitting and standing states.
Step 2
To draw a leg with a pencil, have a nature in front of your eyes. This can be a drawing from which you are going to copy an image or a living person. To begin with, choose the feet of the person in front of you. Draw the lower part of the limb, then draw the ankle and complete the sketch with the thigh.
Step 3
To draw the foot, draw a right-angled triangle with the hypotenuse facing up. This will be a schematic representation of the general shape of the foot. After that, using smooth lines, begin to draw the arch of the foot, then the toes and the lower joint. Next, carefully erase the original straight lines with the eraser. Up from the foot, draw a very elongated narrow oval - this will be the outline of the future ankle. When depicting this part of the leg in profile, make its front surface straight, and give the back a smoothly curved shape formed by the muscle relief.
Step 4
Drawing the thigh, draw another moderately elongated oval from the top of the ankle. You can position it both horizontally and vertically - it depends on the position of the leg you are thinking of. Using a method similar to drawing the ankle, draw realistic outlines of the thigh. Using the "chiaroscuro" technique, draw the muscle relief in order to make the leg drawing more voluminous.
