The snow leopard is a large inhabitant of the mountain ranges of Central Asia. It differs from other representatives of the feline family by its flexible body, long tail and relatively short legs. The light, smoky gray fur of the snow leopard is covered in ring-shaped and solid black spots.

Instructions

Step 1

Determine the point of view from which the leopard will look the most expressive and effective. In accordance with your idea and the found composition, outline the borders of the picture with thin contour lines. Determine the proportions of the snow leopard's body by setting the dimensions of the torso, head, tail, and neck in relation to each other.

Step 2

Start sketching the overall shape with the torso as the largest part. Draw a straight vertical line corresponding to the height of the shape. Draw a quarter of the line from above to place the head, draw an oval in this area, slightly elongated to the sides.

Step 3

To the left or to the right, depending on the selected position of the leopard's body, draw an arc from the base of the head - the contour of the back. Also, from the base of the head to the middle of the original vertical line, write an elongated oval to indicate the outline of the sternum.

Step 4

Draw two straight lines from it downward, thus marking the legs. To form the outlines of the belly and sides, draw an oval on the back line, occupying 2/3 of it. Slightly lower, on the same arch of the back, make a smaller oval to form the lines of the thigh.

Step 5

Divide the head figure into four parts. To do this, draw one vertical line in its center. Measure the middle on it and in this place draw a horizontal strip at a right angle relative to the vertical.

Step 6

On either side of the vertical line, draw two lines parallel to it, placing them mainly under the horizontal line. Connect them at the bottom of the head oval. Draw a triangle to further shape the nose.

Step 7

Outside corners formed when drawing parallel lines, take them under the writing of the eyes. Draw the outlines of the muzzle inside the head oval.

Step 8

Having clarified the back, outline and draw the legs and tail, and then the mouth, eyes, cheeks. Highlight the withers and shoulders. Paint over the inside of the ears. Apply spots to the hide. At the leopard, they look like rings, clouds or flowers with an unpainted core. Note that there is no such print on the bridge of the nose, and on the head the spots are small and completely painted over in black.
