Step 1
First, prepare the canvas, brushes and paints for work, and then tint the canvas with burnt sienna. Sketch the main outline of the future leopard in thin lines - draw on the canvas the outlines of its muzzle and body, as well as the location of the spots on the skin.
Step 2
Mark the shaded areas of the drawing and paint over them to form the relief of the animal's body. Having marked out the spots and areas of light and shadow, begin to draw the eyes of the leopard. Pay enough attention to your eyes - how bright and realistic they are, it depends on whether they can bring the leopard to life in the drawing. Painting over the face of the beast, use paints that organically fit into the main shade of the picture.
Step 3
Aim for the most natural effect - do not make the colors too bright, use muted natural shades. Mark the light areas in the picture with whitewash, and complement the brown shade with burnt umber.
Step 4
After creating the main tone of the picture, working out the outlines of the muzzle and drawing the eyes, begin to detail the leopard. Don't make the paint layer too thick when detailing - transparent and thin layers will help to make the painting light and structured. Draw out the details of the animal's face with a brush, detail the texture of the fur, and then paint the torso carefully.
Step 5
Work on drawing the fur until it becomes realistic. Gradually cover the entire canvas with paint, leaving no empty spaces, and finally, take a critical look at the painting. You will definitely find in it a number of elements that require improvement - for example, some parts of the picture may require new colors, and some - new details.
Step 6
Modify the picture layer by layer until it completely satisfies you. Improve the picture, achieve the liveliness and naturalness of the drawn animal.
