In the 90s, the so-called slime balls were actively sold on the market. This ball actively adhered to any surface it hit. As a result, children came up with sophisticated and funny versions of playing with this interesting toy. In schools and porches, one could always see a stuck ball on the ceiling, which could not be removed back. It turns out that slime can be made at home. It will differ slightly from the industrial version, but it will inherit all the basic properties. Also, it will be susceptible to drying, but store samples are also sinful and require proper storage.
It is necessary
- - PVA glue;
- - sodium carbonate (aka baking soda);
- - food coloring;
- - a container for cooking;
- - stirring stick;
- - kitchen scales.
Instructions
Step 1
Take 200 g of polyvinyl acetate or PVA glue. It is necessary to choose such a glue so that the production date is as late as possible (i.e. the glue is new). Otherwise, it loses its properties. Pour the glue into a container and mix thoroughly.
Step 2
Mix PVA with water. You need to add enough water to get the consistency of thick sour cream (or even a little thicker). Stir the mixture thoroughly.
Step 3
Add any color of food coloring. Don't spare the dye. It is necessary to add such an amount so that the mixture acquires a rich shade. Now you need to stir the dye so that the mixture is homogeneous, without colored feathers and streaks.
Step 4
Take baking soda and add to the mixture. Stir the entire mixture thoroughly again. You will see the mixture thickening. If there is a strong stratification of the bulk, then add not soda, but puree from soda and water.
Step 5
Now take the resulting mass and knead it with your hands. You should get a mass similar to the handgams and lizuns sold in the store. You need to crumple it until a uniform mass is formed, or a uniform ball, from which nothing falls off. If this did not happen, then the components were selected incorrectly and the error in their concentration. You can try to put the mass back into the working container, add pure PVA glue and add soda. After each addition, knead the mass with your hands again.
