In the conditions of the then deficit, it was almost impossible to get a Snow Maiden dress or a musketeer's cloak, but the more interesting and original were the homemade outfits. Despite the fact that today you can easily purchase any fancy dress costume, try to make it yourself, and your baby will have the most beautiful and bright costume.

Step 1
Before you take up the scissors and the needle, decide in whose image your child will appear at the holiday. If your child is still young, it makes sense to offer him your own version. He most likely conceived it a couple of months ago. True, there is a chance that you will have to fend off the creation of a Spider-Man or Shrek costume.

So, after the hero is selected, it is worth sketching a rough sketch of his costume. If it's a famous cartoon character, find a picture of it and look at it. Consider if there are any of the costume elements in your closet. You may be able to find suitable clothes that only need to be decorated or slightly altered. If you need to sew some details of the costume (caftan, skirt, vest), cut them out according to the child's finished clothes. Do not worry too much about perfectly fitting the suit to the figure (although, of course, the child should be comfortable in the suit) or processing the seams, since no one will notice any minor flaws and shortcomings at the holiday. Instead, pay attention to the choice of fabrics, decorations and details that will make the costume more similar to the original and more expressive. So, for example, find “rich” noble materials for a prince's costume - velvet, brocade. Do not forget to sew more sequins to the snowflake dress and sprinkle with small sequin stars on the stargazer costume.
Step 4
Accessories that are suitable for a particular costume are of great importance. These are various crowns for "royals", magic wands for fairies and sorcerers, hats for pirates and musketeers. Any available means are good for the manufacture of such parts - cardboard, paper, wire, foil, tinsel, etc. Decorate the details as varied as possible so that they are bright and noticeable, because they are often the main distinguishing feature of the hero. For example, a girl dressed in a fluffy dress can be anyone, but a baby in a dress with wings behind her back and a magic wand in her hand is absolutely a fairy.
Step 5
Don't forget to decorate your child's shoes as well. Attach large buckles to the musketeer shoes, and trim the snowflake shoes with tinsel.

Take care of your makeup if necessary. Be sure to draw a mustache for a cat or a tiger cub, paint Malvina's eyelids with blue shadows.
