RC helicopters are not at all a toy for children. Modeling can be a very serious hobby. By becoming an experienced RC helicopter pilot, you can even take part in competitions.
Instructions
Step 1
Start mastering helicopter control from the simplest model. First, it will cost you a lot less than the higher-end model. Secondly, it will not be so pity to break it during training. Third, simple models are much easier to manage than professional ones designed for experienced professionals.
Step 2
Train in a spacious room, free from obstacles that the helicopter can collide with. Ensure that you have enough battery power for the entire workout.
Step 3
Learn to take off and land. Increase the rotational speed of the propellers until the helicopter lifts off the floor and takes off upward. If you increase the rotational speed too slowly, the helicopter will most likely topple over to its side without taking off. If you increase the rotational speed of the propellers too much, the helicopter will take off towards the ceiling and crash into it. Practice until you figure out your optimal rotational speed and learn how to achieve it.
Step 4
When the helicopter takes off, reduce the rotational speed of the propellers so that it stops at the desired altitude. Then carefully land the model by reducing the rotational speed of the propellers. If you feel that you are losing control of the model, stop the blades completely. In this case, the helicopter will fall, however, most likely, it will receive not too serious damage. It will be much worse if the helicopter crashes into something and damages the blades.
Step 5
Once you have learned to keep the helicopter at a certain height, try moving it back and forth. First try to "fly" forward one meter, fix the helicopter in the air, and then return it back along the same line. Then, when this exercise is easy for you, try to learn how to turn the helicopter 180 degrees. Move the model from one point to another, turn it around and make it fly back.
