Helicopter control is one of the most interesting and extensive topics that captures not only practicing aviators, but also other people who are poorly familiar with the peculiarities of aviation sports. Of course, it is impossible to create a short guide to operating a screw machine, but almost everyone can understand the basic principles and methods of controlling it.

Instructions

Step 1

The first subject of control that a prospective pilot should be familiar with is the vertical thrust lever. By changing its position, the pilot adjusts the lift by increasing the angle of attack of the blades through the swashplate. The handle is automatically locked in any position, which allows the machine to hover in the air at a specific height. Practicing vertical control provides the foundation for confident takeoff and landing, which is especially important for novice pilots.

Step 2

The next control for the helicopter is the steering pedals. They adjust the lateral thrust by changing the tilt of the tail rotor blades. This creates an additional force on the tail of the helicopter, which causes it to pivot left and right along the vertical axis. This maneuver for beginners is called "all-round view." It is worked out after lifting the car into the air to a low height. Good handling of trackers is important for the practical application of turns at speed and when landing a vehicle on a helipad.

Step 3

The third control element of the helicopter is the helm. Due to the work of a complex swashplate mechanism, the blade changes the angle of attack with a frequency equal to the rotor speed. This makes it possible to create areas with different values of lift in the area of its action. For example, in order for the helicopter to fly strictly to the right, the control wheel must be pulled slightly to the right. This will increase the lift of the main rotor on the starboard side and proportionally reduce it on the left side, which will allow the machine to move smoothly and with a slight tilt in the lateral direction. This skill is practiced to quickly change route on the move and move diagonally. If the work of track manipulators is connected to the roll control of the helicopter, it is possible to make a turn in a wide arc, and with the help of the vertical control element, to make a lateral descent.

Step 4

Pitch control allows you to move the helicopter along the longitudinal axis: forward and backward. In order to move the helicopter forward, you should slightly press the control wheel. This affects the swashplate by analogy with roll control: along the front of the main rotor action, an area with increased lift is created, which pulls the car with it. Practicing this skill allows you to confidently cruise at high speed, as well as make diagonal movement, frontal and tail descent, diving and high-speed maneuvers.

Step 5

In order to land on a helicopter, you must slow down to almost zero. The machine is leveled in the air until it is stationary and is positioned strictly above the landing area. The vertical control stick is gently lowered downward, due to which the helicopter begins a slow descent. The course is adjusted by the steering wheel, and 3-4 meters before the final landing, the helicopter is set in the desired direction using the track manipulators. When the helicopter landing gear touches solid ground, the take-off thrust is completely removed and the engine is turned off.
