The current will force the nearby fish into the hole, and then into the basket.

Cut a horseshoe-shaped hole in the ice. The width should be approximately 50 cm, the length in a semicircle should be 3-4 meters. The bottom of the pit will be ice, the layer thickness of which should be 5-6 cm from the middle of the inner wall of the pit. Cut a gap 10 to 15 cm wide to a depth of about 1/2 of the total ice thickness. This slot should fit into the circular hole. The fish that enters the hole will fall into the trap through the gap.
