Experienced fishermen claim that using a trap when fishing will double or triple the fishing efficiency. The main purpose of this fishing device is to trick the cunning and adventurous fish into a trap.
You can buy a trap for fishing at any store that specializes in the sale of fishing goods, but it is much more interesting and profitable to make this device yourself. First, you will be able to save some amount of money. Secondly, the design of a homemade trap can be adjusted at any time if the device is not as effective as you would like.
Plastic Bottle Fishing Trap
The simplest, and therefore the most common among modern fishermen, is a method involving the manufacture of a fishing trap from an ordinary plastic bottle. All he needs is a plastic bottle of soda, kvass, beer or any other drink. The volume of the container does not matter much.
Using a penknife or any other knife, cut off from the bottle, more precisely from its neck, a part 20 cm wide. Insert the cut element into the bottle body so that the neck is perpendicular to the bottom of the container. Make two holes on the sides of the bottom of the resulting structure. Pull a strong thread through them; a clothesline is quite useful for this purpose. Put bait inside the bottle, which can be played by an insect or some shiny object.
A curious fish, interested in the contents of the bottle, will fall into the trap along with the water. Thus, you can catch several small fish at once, from which you get a good ear or a salty snack.
Twig fishing trap
If there is not a single suitable bottle on the shore of the reservoir, build a trap from ordinary branches. The essence of the manufacturing process of such a structure is to overlap with branches and sticks a section of a reservoir rich in tall grasses and various snags. When setting up the trap, keep in mind that it should not be upstream.
Put fish food inside the finished structure, the role of which can be played by bread, pearl barley or pea porridge, boiled potatoes and other products that attract fish. By the way, a natural backwater located near a rocky coast can also become a good trap, provided that additional food is placed in it.
Despite the clear advantages of trap fishing, this method of fishing can be dangerous in the form of catching the growing fish. Carefully review the catch and be sure to release young animals caught in a makeshift fishing trap.
