If there are children in your home, then sooner or later you will have to face the following task: you will need to help the child learn to recognize the time. The model of the clock can help you with this - by moving the hands of the homemade clock with you, the kid will understand and remember everything much faster.
It is necessary
- - thick cardboard;
- - awl;
- - ruler;
- - protractor;
- - felt-tip pens or marker;
- - a screw and 2 nuts of a suitable size.
Instructions
Step 1
Craft a dial. To do this, cut out a circle from cardboard / plastic / wood, the diameter of which will depend on the size of the watch you need. Carefully make a small hole with an awl in the center of the circle.
Step 2
Mark the dial. The most convenient way to do this is to use a ruler and a protractor. First, draw one thin vertical line from the edge of the dial to the other edge through the center. Then, using a protractor, fixing the starting point at the center of the dial, mark every 30 degrees (i.e. at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 degrees).
Step 3
Flip the protractor onto the clean half of the dial and repeat. After that, circle the resulting marks with a marker / paints / felt-tip pens. Number each of them in the standard sequence from 1 to 12.
Step 4
Make arrows. If possible, use parts from some old clock. If there are no suitable ready-made arrows, then cut out two arrows from cardboard / plastic, identical in shape, but different in length. The length of the minute hand should be a couple of centimeters less than the radius of your dial. The hour hand is as much shorter than the minute hand.
Step 5
Punch a hole at the base of both arrows with an awl. Insert a small screw first into the minute hand and then into the hour hand. Then fasten the arrows to the screw with a nut.
Step 6
Attach the hands to the dial. To do this, insert the screw with arrows into the center hole on the dial so that the arrows are on the side with the marked numbers. Secure the screw on the back of the watch with another nut.
