Pain from a pulled muscle or just a headache can be relieved by gentle heat. By adding essential oils or herbal sachets, you can enhance the healing effect. Making an herbal therapy pad is simple and cheap. It can be made in any size, shape and cut, and therefore these pillows are also an excellent gift option. Be creative when choosing fabrics and materials.
Different tissues can cause different reactions in a person.
1. Place the fabric on the table and measure out 2 equal-sized squares. Smaller pillows can be used for the eyes, while larger pillows can be used for the head and joints. Sizes may vary, but the main thing is that both parts fit together, and that you leave room for seams, at least 6 mm.
2. Use scissors to cut out the squares. Lay them right side up. Simply put, the side of the fabric that will then be on the outside must first look inward. Sew three of the four sides together with a needle and thread, leaving an edge of at least 6 mm. One side must remain unstitched.
3. Pour rice or flaxseed into a large bowl. If the sides of the square are 15 cm, you will need a little more than half a glass to fill the future pillow. The amount of stuffing depends on you, but the main thing is not to overdo it.
4. Add 5-10 drops of an essential oil of your choice to rice or flaxseed. Stir well, let it fully absorb for 10 minutes. You can use, for example, ginger, which helps with inflammation, feverfew for headaches, lavender as a sleeping pill.
5. If you don't have essential oils, add dried herbs to the rice instead. The herbs should be finely ground to get a uniform texture.
6. Turn the stitched squares inside out. Stuff the pad with flavored rice or flaxseed, then sew up the remaining edge of the pad. Do it in small stitches and make sure there are no gaps.
