It is necessary

  • - red felt;
  • - white felt;
  • - blue felt;
  • - black felt - for the eyes;
  • - yellow or brown - for the beak and legs;
  • - synthetic winterizer;
  • - a needle;
  • - threads of suitable colors.

Instructions

Step 1

First you need to make the right pattern. Take measurements. You need to measure your kettle in order to know how the cover should be in height and width. Find out the diameter of the bottom, divide it by 2. This will be the bottom edge of the product details. Then we get a measure from the bottom to the lid. It is better to use a centimeter here, and transfer the data obtained using a ruler to paper. This will be the height of the hood. The rest of the details are easier to cut out. But here, too, rationality must be observed. The scallop follows the outline of the head, along its upper part. There should be a lower red part under the beak. The beak should consist of two elements - the lower and the upper. There should also be two eyes. For them, we make two circles of white felt and two smaller ones of black. Blue felt was suggested for the torso, and white for the wings.

Step 2

You can strengthen the product, but the material for this must be selected correctly. It doesn't have to be something that contains glue or is synthetic. It is better to choose a synthetic winterizer - it not only does not contain hazardous substances, but also retains heat longer. In addition, the cap will hold much more firmly. To make patterns from padding polyester it was more convenient, it is pinned to paper figures of future details, and then the details are cut out with an allowance for seams. It is better to fasten it with felt along all the edges of the felt parts, so that unnecessary "pockets" are not formed.

Step 3

Do not forget to leave room for the allowance. At least the halves of the body, tail, scallop, beak must have them. This product should be turned inside out, so it will better keep the warmth of a warmed kettle.

Step 4

Now we sew on the details. First you need to pin them to the torso elements. So, wings, legs, eyes, beak are attached to the right and left parts. Then they must be sewn with threads of a suitable color. A forward seam is recommended. It must be done carefully. If you can make aesthetic seams, make an overcast seam by attaching a backing, that is, the torso, to it. Then the product will look much brighter. You also need to attach the halves of the scallop, legs.

Step 5

The tail is an important detail of this product. It can be cut out as part of the torso. Then, after turning it out at the next stage, it will be more stable than if you sew it separately.

Step 6

In this case, it is better to turn the sewn products inside out when the body is being sewn. That is, first, the two parts of the torso are applied to each other so that the attached parts look inward. Then they are sewn on the upper side, in the manner of a hat. Then the product is turned inside out, and a cap is obtained. You can decorate it with additional decorative elements - flowers or bows, sewing them separately.
