It often happens that at home the hostess accumulates a large number of cuts of various fabrics or old things that you no longer want to wear, but it's a pity to throw them away. It can be last year's denim pants or skirts, a fabric jacket or a raincoat with moisture-resistant impregnation. It is quite possible to sew a fashionable, comfortable and practical bag-backpack from them.
It is necessary
- - fabric - 100x140 cm;
- - twisted braid - 100 cm;
- - metal eyelets with a diameter of 1 cm - 6 pcs;
- - metal rings - 2 pcs.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare for sewing the old fabric from which you intend to make a bag-backpack: open things, iron the resulting pieces of fabric with a hot iron.
Step 2
Cut out from the prepared pieces of fabric or fabric cut: a rectangle measuring 73x37 cm, an oval for the bottom of the backpack bag (cut out from a rectangle measuring 27x16 cm), two blanks for straps - each 100 cm long and 10 cm wide, a valve in the form of a rectangle with sides 12x25 cm.
Step 3
Take the main large rectangle and overcast with an overlock or hand over all sides of the workpiece. After that, make a hem (about 3 cm) on one of the long sides and sew it on the sewing machine. This will be the top side of the base of the backpack.
Step 4
Insert the metal eyelets into the fold made. Then sew the rectangle along the short sides to make it look like a pipe.
Step 5
Sew the oval bottom to the bottom edge of the resulting fabric blank. And to the bottom from the side that will be in contact with the back while wearing, you need to sew two metal rings along the very edge (later the straps of the backpack bag will be inserted into them).
Step 6
Sew the blanks for the straps 100 cm long, turn each of them to the right side. You should get two straps of the same length and width of about 4.5 cm.
Step 7
Sew the pre-finished flap to the top of the backpack, along which the eyelets are inserted. At the other end of the flap, sew a buttonhole or tie loop. Sew a button or a second strap onto the backpack bag itself in the right place.
Step 8
Sew the top ends of the straps on the back of the backpack under the flap. Between the straps, you can make and sew a loop from the same braid that will tighten the upper part of the product - this loop is needed so that the hostess subsequently has the opportunity to hang the bag on a hook or handle.
Step 9
Thread the braid into the eyelets and tighten it - the backpack is ready. The finished product can be decorated with multi-colored braid, appliques, buttons.
