Spring has come in the garden. The first to open the blooming season are our bulbs, planted in autumn with such care. Working in the garden, as usual, we have no time to admire the flowers, and we make bouquets and take them home.
A bouquet of tulips will delight you with its delightful appearance, inspire and give a good mood when you do for the flowers what is necessary to prolong their life.
- Cut flowers in the morning or evening. Do not do this when it is raining or after watering, or in hot weather. Such a cut will only bring grief. Due to the heat, the flowers quickly lose moisture, and in damp weather they deteriorate from moisture.
- Use different sharp knives, as it is not permissible to cut tulips with one knife. When cutting, viral diseases are transmitted along with the juice and you will infect your collection. It is best to break the stems and then trim off the ends of the stems.
- Cut tulips when the buds are fully colored or just starting to open showing their true color.
- Do not cut off all the leaves, think that the bulb is also alive, it needs to accumulate food for further wintering.
- When carrying a bouquet, do not hold the flowers with their heads down, because juice is leaking from the stem.
- At home, the stems are immersed in water at room temperature and again, with a sharp knife, the cut is renewed. The water temperature should be at least 7-8 ° C.
- It is better to change the water in the vase daily, updating the cuts with a knife. You can add a little sugar or aspirin to the water.
- Do not put other flowers in the same vase with tulips. Especially daffodils, which secrete milky juice from the stems. Daffodils will simply poison tulips with their slimy secretions. This applies to lilies of the valley and forget-me-nots.
When properly prepared, tulips can stand in water for 5 to 10 days.
