Bloodworm is a commonly used bait for fishing, most often in winter. The fisherman's catch is very dependent on the freshness and attractiveness of bloodworms, so the larvae must be stored correctly. There are several easy ways to store this delicate bait.
It is necessary
- Bloodworm
- Newspaper
- Freezer
- Ice cube trays
Instructions
Step 1
If there are not so many bloodworms, and you need to store it for a couple of days, then you can simply store it in an ordinary dry newspaper on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. To do this, before placing the bloodworm in the refrigerator, the larvae must be transferred to a new dry newspaper. Spread the larvae in an even layer on newspaper or clean paper moistened with water. After that, the newspaper must be rolled up in the form of an envelope so that the bloodworm does not creep over the refrigerator. Make sure that the newspaper does not dry out.
Step 2
For a longer storage of bloodworms, it should be frozen in the freezer of the refrigerator. True, it should be borne in mind that the bloodworm will die, and it will become much more difficult to plant it. Such defrosted bloodworms are usually added to groundbait.
Step 3
If you need bloodworms to feed your aquarium fish, you can store it by freezing it in ice cube trays. To do this, you need to put bloodworms in molds and fill with water. After that, you need to place the container in the freezer. Removing bloodworms is very simple - you just need to put the mold in hot water and the pieces of ice will be easy to get out.
