Among the widest variety of bait that fishermen use to catch fish, bloodworms are the most common - these larvae are unpretentious and, moreover, they have proven themselves as effective fishing lures. It is not necessary to look for bait every time before fishing in nature - if you wish, you can breed bloodworms at home, in artificial conditions, providing the larvae with a suitable regime for existence and reproduction.
Instructions
Step 1
To breed bloodworms, you will need wide, low cuvettes with a thin layer of silt at the bottom - in such containers you need to keep the larvae. Also, the sludge should be covered with water, no more than 2 mm. Place the larvae trays in a closed space divided into two sectors. Adult insects will be located in the second sector.
Step 2
Place the cuvettes horizontally and ensure that sufficient oxygen enters them. Water the trays daily with a little water to maintain the moisture needed for normal larval development. Also in the cuvettes it is necessary to maintain a stable temperature not lower than + 18-20 degrees.
Step 3
Collect the sludge for breeding bloodworms in water bodies, trying to choose the cleanest sludge, without any inclusions of sand, stones and large plants. Pour the collected sludge with boiling water, and then drain, collecting the settled sludge in a separate container. Add a small amount of regular yeast to feed future larvae.
Step 4
After 10-12 days after the start of breeding the larvae, it is necessary to replenish the supply of yeast - spray them over the surface of the container with sludge, sifting through cheesecloth. It is required to feed the larvae every two days.
Step 5
In order to collect the first larvae for breeding bloodworms, find a place where mosquitoes accumulate in the reservoir and take a small number of eggs in this place. Based on this clutch, you will support further mosquito offspring.
