Step 1
In order for the larvae to show signs of life for as long as possible, it is better to remember and practice the following rules for their storage. Bloodworms (or live fish food, as fans call it) will last longer if placed in the refrigerator. In this case, it is worth sticking to the first or second shelf, that is, places where it is cooler. In conditions of low temperatures and humidity, bloodworms will last up to 2 weeks. But remember, the fish food you buy must literally be alive. Opinions of professionals are divided on the methods of storage. Here are some of them.
Step 2
The first and easiest way is to store bloodworms in paper (newspaper or any other unnecessary printed matter), having previously expanded it with a layer of no more than 1-2 mm. Such a temporary residence will be fine for the larvae for a while. Do not forget to maintain the humidity of the environment every day, shift the bloodworms and select non-surviving specimens: for this you need to open the paper, moisten it with water and transfer the food.
Step 3
The next equally popular method is freezing. This method is even simpler than the previous one. Place the bloodworm in any container or bag and place it in the freezer. With each feeding, it is enough to extract only a part, the rest is better to leave until a certain time. It is convenient to store bloodworms in the freezer if you do not have time to check the state of the larvae, sort through and rinse every day.

The next, most exotic method is storing bloodworms in the toilet cistern. To do this, fishermen recommend placing them in a tight nylon bag and lowering them into the tank. This will ensure a constant supply of fresh water to the crank tank. The larvae, of course, like this option - they are stored there for up to a month, but we can hardly answer unequivocally for your pets. In short, everyone chooses for themselves.
