Instructions
Step 1
Buy a file folder of any size, such as A4, A5 or A6. Purchase a sturdy, durable cardboard of the appropriate size, it will serve as the pages of a future album.
Step 2
Cover the front and back covers of the folder with a thick, bright cloth, do not cover the spine, otherwise, when you open the album, the fabric will gather in folds. It is better to paint this part with an opaque paint. Make a fold of the fabric in the place where the spine begins, carefully glue, fold the material along the edges of the crust, glue from the inside. To avoid showing the edges of the fabric, glue cardboard or heavy colored paper to the inside of the front and back skin.
Step 3
Decorate the album cover. Sew large buttons to the material, make a loop of elastic or ribbon, sew to the back of the folder so that a stylized clasp is formed. You can also use old belt buckles. Decorate the surface of the folder peel with leather pieces, ribbons, applique. If you are preparing an album for travel photos, arrange the folder in the appropriate style - glue waves from ribbons, steamers assembled from newsprint, seagulls from feathers.
Step 4
Cut out sheets of cardboard that fit the folder, round their edges. Create a unique look for each page of the album, decorate them on one side only, you do not need to glue photos on the back.
Here are some ideas for decorating your pages. Glue a light-colored cloth onto the cardboard with PVA glue, write the lyrics of a song that means a lot to you with a gel pen. Place photos on top of the text. Or roll the transparent tape into a loose tube, fasten it with a thread on one side, fluff up the resulting tulip, make stems from ribbons or laces. Wide leaves can be made from pieces of leather. Place all the details at the bottom of the page, glue, fix the photo at the top. Cut flowers with four to five petals from leather or a substitute. Choose thick bright threads, make two criss-cross stitches in each flower in the center, like a button. Secure the thread from the wrong side. Fill the white space on the page with flowers.
