Cross stitch is perhaps the most popular type of embroidery. It does not require any special skills and is easy to perform. It is not even necessary to come up with a plot - it is enough to take a ready-made scheme you like.
It is necessary

- -scheme of the drawing
Instructions
Step 1
First, select a cross stitch pattern. For beginners, a modest size chart with a small number of stitches and colors is suitable. After completing a simple job, you will gain minimal skills and decide whether you like the activity in principle and whether you want to continue. Of course, if you are determined to immediately complete a large refined painting, it will be more interesting. But you will need a lot of skeins of thread of different colors and a lot of patience, because such work can take more than one month. Ask yourself if you are ready for this.
Step 2
Having decided on the pattern and diagram, stock up on the necessary materials. Purchase the required number of floss threads in the appropriate colors. Buy threads from the same company so that the picture looks uniform and harmonious (threads from different companies may differ in thickness and appearance). If you can afford it, choose a good quality thread from a reputable manufacturer. This way your painting will last for a long time, and the colors will remain bright and saturated. Cross stitching can be done on ordinary fabric, but usually canvas is used for it. This is a see-through mesh fabric, linen or cotton. Use small scissors for more convenience. Get blunt needles with an elongated eye, usually sold as embroidery needles.
For convenience, prepare a hoop in which the fabric is fixed and stretched during operation. They are wooden and plastic, round and oval. Some can be further used as a frame. If you do not want to waste time looking for the right fabric and thread, get a ready-made cross stitch kit - there will already be a canvas of the right size, and threads of the right colors and lengths.
Step 3
Start embroidery. Leave a few centimeters of canvas on each side of the drawing so you can frame your artwork later. Choose the element you would like to start with (although beginners are often advised to start from the center). Take the thread of the desired color, usually it is folded in half. Take the thread twice as long as the required length, fold in half, insert the needles into the eyelet with the tips. To secure the thread to the fabric, pry up the center of the canvas cage, pull the thread, and insert the needle into the folded end of the thread. Thus, the fastening point remains invisible. A simple cross stitch consists of a stitch forward and a stitch backward. Pass the thread diagonally from left to right, over the two threads of the canvas. Insert the needle vertically under the double cross thread. Going back, sew the same stitch from right to left. The resulting two stitches are a simple cross. When the thread runs out, fasten it on the back of the embroidery and pass it under the last few stitches.
