Those who often work with denim would probably like to make the stitching on the products as similar as possible to the factory stitching. Exact imitation of the factory stitching is hardly possible at home, but many can do high-quality and even stitching of jeans on a household sewing machine.

Use two types of thread for stitching jeans - regular reinforced thread and decorative thick thread. You will need thick thread for the top stitching, and thread with regular thread in the bobbin. In order for the machine to easily cope with two types of threads, the tension of the upper thread must be slightly loosened.

Most often, problems when sewing denim arise due to skipped stitches in places of thickenings. This happens due to the fact that the needle in the machine does not have time to make punctures on thick fabric. As a result, when the needle enters the shuttle, the upper thread does not catch with the lower thread, since the shuttle has already rotated. To prevent this from happening, you can insert the needle not all the way, but slightly below.

To get perfectly straight lines on denim, use the special guide foot. The stitching must be done in a specific sequence. First a seam is placed close to the edge, then a second seam is sewn parallel to the first. In order for the width of the stitching to be the same throughout the entire length, in the process of laying the first seam, you need to mark the width directly on the foot.

To make the spots on denim easier to sew, you can beat them off with a hammer, or steam them off with an iron.

Use a # 100 thick machine needle to sew denim. Such a needle has a special tip shape and can easily pierce thick tissue.
