Step 1
Wash the clothes that you want to decorate with sequins so that after they do not sit down and pull off the completed drawing. Choose things from plain fabrics, colorful sequins will ripple and get lost on a variegated background. Iron the fabric material. Use basting stitches to mark the areas where you want to position the pattern. If the item is made of knitted fabric, be careful not to pull the thread together.
Step 2
Choose sequins. They come in several types, for example, flat with a hole in the middle. Such decorative elements are sewn with two or three stitches directed from the center to the edges. These sequins can be sewn side by side or overlaid so that the center of the first matches the edge of the second. Usually they are sewn onto entire areas of fabric, they are used to decorate clutches, handbags, details of blouses and shirts.
Step 3
Use beads when sewing on sequins. It is indispensable if you have chosen sequins with curved edges and a hole in the center. Bring the needle and thread to the right side of the product, insert the point into the hole of the sequin, string one bead. Pull up the thread and thread it back into the hole, bring it to the wrong side. Sew a stitch from the wrong side, bring the needle to the right side and repeat the operation. This sewing method does not imply layering of sequins, each circle should not be in contact with the next one.
Step 4
Decorate the item with rhinestone sequins. They are plastic (less often made of glass in metal) faceted shapes with one or two holes on the edges. If there is only one hole, just grab the sequin with a thread, make sure that all the "stones" hang in one direction, back off enough space, sew the second one. Do not over-tighten the thread so that the pattern does not deform. If there are two holes, then make a small stitch through the hole towards the edge, the sequin will be fixed on both sides. Such products are sewn on the shelves and the collar area of blouses.
