Most of the accessories, clothing and decor items can be decorated with sequin embroidery. It is important to make sure that the chosen item will not be overloaded with additional drawing. The embroidery technique depends on the base material.

It is necessary

  • - Belt;
  • - sequins of different shapes and colors;
  • - album sheets and colored pencils;
  • - glue;
  • - threads and needles;
  • - awl;
  • - beads.

Instructions

Step 1

Select a belt. Please note that it does not have its own drawing. Let's say a small, discreet design that will not distract attention from the embroidery design.

Step 2

Examine the material the belt is made of. If it is leather or thick leatherette, it will be problematic to sew sequins with one needle. For such cases, use an awl (you will pierce the belt in advance in the places where the threads are attached) or transparent glue. In the second case, no threads are needed, each sequin will be attached separately.

Step 3

Circle the belt on the paper. Since one album sheet will not be enough for the entire length of the belt, fasten several. You can also use one sheet if you are going to duplicate an element several times. In this case, be sure to carefully measure the length of the belt.

Step 4

Draw a sketch with colored pencils. Use pencil colors that match the colors of the sequins. Consider the shapes of the sequins you have.

Step 5

In accordance with the sketch, apply the pattern to the belt. To do this, use threads of a contrasting color (if the belt is made of soft material), chalk or a phantom marker. You do not need to designate the color at this stage, you will embroider with an eye to the sketch.

Step 6

Start attaching the sequins to the belt. It is convenient to sew on one sequin on a soft material: run the thread from the wrong side, dial the sequin and beads to match, then go through the sequin again and go to the wrong side.

Step 7

On belts made of hard materials, pre-make holes with an awl. The fastening technique can be the same or "over the edge": pick up a sequin, press it to the belt, insert the needle from the edge of the sequin in the direction of the drawing.
